MATERIALS & FABRICS

RECYCLED PLASTIC

We only use recycled or low impact fabrics.

We recycle post-consumer plastic into the fabrics we use. This not only reduces plastic heading to landfill, but it also reduces the need to make new, virgin plastic.

MATERIALS & FABRICS

BAMBOO & RESPONSIBLE COTTON

Bamboo is an amazing plant that can make soft and durable fabric for sportswear. Bamboo fabric is naturally softer, lighter, and more sweat absorbent than cotton, as well as having antibacterial qualities. Bamboo production is far less impactful than cotton, using, on average, only 10% of the water!

We do use cotton, but the cotton we use is reconstituted from off cuts: we’re making use of what would otherwise be waste from a highly impactful crop.

Ethical Manufacturing

FACTORIES

Transport and manufacturing processes can be huge drains on energy, and traditionally this relies on Carbon Dioxide. Currently, it is extremely hard to eliminate the use of CO2 completely, especially in regards to transport. This is why we work hard to make other processes as ethical and sustainable as possible.

Enso works with factories that use up to 90% solar energy, whilst also supporting factories that offer jobs to disadvantaged women.

Ethical Manufacturing

CARBON OFFSETTING

We offset all of our carbon transport impact by planting of Mangroves in Zimbabwe. Mangrove trees are particularly useful at absorbing CO2, and can sequester up to four times more carbon than rainforests can.

PACKAGING

All our packaging is either: recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable.

We use tissue paper that’s recycled and can either be recycled again or used in your compost. We try to avoid cardboard, but when we use it it’s recycled and recyclable and of course, we do not use any plastic.

ENSO FOUNDATION

The Ensō Foundation aims to stimulate economic growth at a grassroots level, combined with education about the environment and sustainability in developing countries whilst embracing the old saying "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"
